Version 0.2: The Exhibits!


Devlog #2: The Exhibits!

This update was focused primarily on creating the first iterations of the various exhibits around the aquarium and improving the lighting/environment.

Updates:

  • Added the Frozen Tundra and Boggy Marsh exhibits! Back in the aquarium's hayday, these exhibits held various animals for guests to see and enjoy. Today, however, the animals are long gone- and in their place are the "animatronic ambassadors"...
  • Decreased the intensity of lighting to make the game darker overall. 
  • Changed the wall temporary texture in order to match the decreased light level.
  • Moved the numbers on some of the room walls.
  • Moved Crusher and the Trio into their respective exhibits.
  • Reworked the Trio's animation for breaking the cams to match their new enclosure.
  • Reworked Crusher's positions so it is clearer when he moves and to match his new enclosure.
  • Moved the camera positions of Room 4 and Room 5.
  • Fixed an issue with the audio cue cooldown timer being inside of the button. It should now remain anchored where it is intended to be.
  • Added glass which allows players to see Aronnax appear as well as into the other rooms if you are lucky!

Items On Radar:

  • Continuing to investigate bugs noted in previous devlog.
  • Work on Big Blue exhibit, Aqualand Kids Area, lobby, and other misc rooms.
  • Adding MacOS playability.

Adding these new exhibits and new lighting has helped me realize the vision I have for this game and I hope to continue adding more basic enclosures and scenery items in the future. In a few more updates I also hope to move out of the prototype phase and into an alpha phase! Stay tuned and as usual, thanks for playing!
